Dating from the post WW2 period, this Doxa nickel silver pocket watch is similar to the Doxa pocket watches that the British Army used during the war. This one would date to the late 1940s to the 1950s. Whereas the military watch had numerals on the face of the second hand dial, this one simply has chapters. Very Art Deco looking, with clean numerals and silver-coloured face. Stem wind.  Measurements:  5.07 cm diameter (not including the winder and bow) and 1.55 cm thick. Exterior is in good condition - the nickel silver is a very slight brassy colour, and there is a strange small mark on the rear case. Movement is accessed by unscrewing the rear plate. Working order, but I don't know when it was last serviced, although it looks very clean inside and there is a jeweller's mark. Stamped inside: Doxa, Swiss Made as well as Doxa S.A.  It has 4 jewels on top of movement, but could be many more which aren't viewable.  A very nice, clean example of these reliable pocket watches.
