Vintage Paua and Silver Necklace.

New Zealand paua shell mounted in sterling silver, forming three four-leaf clover shapes mounted on a silver chain. This would date from the 1940s, when much of this type of jewellery was made by Returned Servicemen's workshops. The silver backs are stamped "STG" . The main part of the necklace (not the chain) measures approx. 7 cm wide - when worn, this would form a curve. The chain is a later addition, to replace the old chain which had broken. It is a fine silver chain, 21.5 cm long on each side. Very good condition.
