Etruscan style Victorian target brooch with rear locket panel. Centre of brooch is a dome of pave-set turquoises. Rope beading and ball rim to brooch. No hallmarks, but tests as 15ct gold on the face of the brooch. Rear of locket has a hair or photo panel - currently this has a lock of hair inside, but this could be removed as panel easily lifts off. Sweetheart, mourning or remembrance brooch. Measures 27 mm diameter. Circa 1880s.
