Victorian Black Enamelled Locket with Inlay.

Very striking 19th century Victorian period photo locket - a remembrance locket. Black enamel front and back, with the front having an inlay of seed pearls and silver. Shows a dove with a sprig of flowers or stars mounted with 8 seed pearls. Inside has two photo panels, one having glass, but the other without this. Gilded silver rims to the outer casing, and gilded metal inside. This is a beautiful locket with fine craftsmanship. It has one fault - there is a chip to the enamel at the top of the front. Could be repaired with filler and touch-up. Being black, it is not immediately noticeable. Locket measures 4.71 cm high (not including the bale) and 3.77 cm wide. It is 1.20 cm thick.
