Two Items of Nautical Jewellery.
Faults here - two collectible items which may be related to each other - the first is a 9ct rose gold anchor brooch, bearing the banner in navy enamel, of the ship HMS Conquest. The maker’s mark on this reads “A.BROS” for Atkinson Brothers who were active in the late 1800s on. This would mean that Conquest was either the the light C class cruiser launched in 1915, or the screw corvette launched in 1878.(The were three Conquests, one from 1794 and the two mentioned here). The brooch measures 3.7 cm by 2.75 cm. The face is in very good condition, but the rear shows that the pin is missing
The second item is a rolled gold double locket brooch - the front has a photo of a young naval officer (or maybe cadet), and the rear has just a fabric under the glass. The frame is stamped”Rolled Gold”. There is some wear and dullness. The brooch measures 3.4 cm by 2.72 cm. The young man in the photo could have served in the HMS Conquest.
