Thaler Silver Coin Pendant on Chain.
Austrian thaler with Marie Therese bust on one side and two-headed eagle of Austria on the reverse. Restrike, ornate coin originally issued in 1781. The Empress's name is written on the thaler, and the two sides are filled with abbreviations in Latin. Apart from the face and reverse of the coin, even the coin's edge is ornate with the engraved words “clemencia and justicia” to indicate a government marked by clemency and justice. TW: 28.5 g (weight of coin only). It has a silver content of .833 and a copper content of .166 of its total. This one is lightly gilded, with bale attached. Diameter approx 41 mm. It come on a chain, marked 835 silver content. Length of chain is 60 cm. Excellent condition.
