Dating from the 1940s-early 50s, this brooch depicts a crab on a leaf. Made in boxwood, it measures 3.8 cm wide and 7.4 cm long.  The leaf has 2 shaped perforations in it, maybe to illustrate nibbling made by the crab, or insects.  All in perfect condition - except, that it has two ink stains around the carved notches opposite the crab, and on the reverse side.
