Antique sterling silver spoon - possibly a jam spoon with enamelled badge finial “Entente Cordiale” and “Franco British Exhibition 1908”. Edwardian period, to quote Wikipedia: “The Franco-British Exhibition was a large public fair held in London between 14 May and 31 October 1908. The exhibition attracted 8 million visitors and celebrated the Entente Cordiale signed in 1904 by the United Kingdom and France”. This beautiful spoon has a fish embossed to the centre of the bowl in very Art Nouveau style. British hallmarks for Birmingham 1905. Spoon measures 13.5 cm long with a heart-shaped bowl 3.6 cm wide. Excellent condition.
