Oriental Lacquer Match Holder/Striker.

Antique Chinoiserie wall holder for matches or spills, with a rough striker for non-safety matches underneath the holder.  Black lacquer with gilded scenes - a person playing a stringed instrument, watched by a lady, and a seated gentleman with his calligraphy brushes and ink.
Item measures 20.5 cm long.There is a hole for the item to be mounted onto the wall. Very good condition, would date circa 1890. Chinoiserie items on black or red lacquer were very popular and today are very collectable.
