Large Brass Masonic Vesta Case and Chain.

Unusual vesta match case - large size, with embossed designs to front, including the Masonic emblem of the dividers. Shown on both front and rear.  Striker channel under the base. Made for matches before safety matches were invented, although I've never seen such a large size. Attached is the original brass or possibly gold-plated, fob chain complete with clasp and T bar. There is also a much later addition of a fob charm - the same design as the emblem on the Vesta case. (Americans call Vesta cases Match Safes). Size:  6.3 cm by 4.7 cm. 1.3 cm thick. Spring on the lid still functions. The chain is 42 cm long.  Would date from early 1900s.
