Japanese Vintage Deco Tea Caddy.

Foil-lined tea caddy, made in balsa wood with exterior decoration of an applied  bamboo checker-board design. with reeded edges to the base and sides of the lid. It tapers from lid to feet. and stands on four bamboo carved legs. It has a round plaque on the front of a dragon in the clouds which may have been a later addition. The plaque has some age wear., and the top of the lid which is inserted into an external frame, has popped up a little in one corner.  Unusual item, very quaint.
