Embossed sterling silver punch spoon, bearing the British import marks from John George Smith of London 1899. The German silver mark is a crowned R, and a possible fleur de lis. Spoon was used as an individual's spoon to dip into punch - not like the long ladles used by the English. Could also be used as a sauce ladle today.
Embossed scene of a couple holding hands in a village street with harvest vegetables or a fire below. Spoon has a raised seated lion finial, with wreath plaque below. Slightly hooked at rear to allow it to be hung over bowl edge. Spoon measures13.5 cm long - the bowl is 6 cm by 4.5 cm. Excellent condition.
