Carved Victorian Dip-Pen with Stanhope Peeps.
Carved souvenir dip-pen with a stanhope or peeps mounted in the stem. The scene is Mont Dore, Vue Generale. (Le Mont-Dore, formerly called Mont-Dore-les-Bains, is an area in the Puy-de-Dôme department in Auvergne in central France). The handle of the pen has on it "Mont Dore", and is made to be a letter opener. A souvenir of the region dating from the late 19th to very early 20th century. Pen measures 17.5 cm long without a pen nib. Very good condition.
