Austria-Hungary Silver Handled Cake Slice.

Antique cake slice, carries the mark for the period 1866 to 1937 for the silver handle, .800 silver, and a maker’s mark of M.G. - probably belongs to the late 19th century. The handle and stem are ornate, with reeded stem and a finial in a variation of the Coburg pattern. The slice blade is silver plated and has many ornate grape-vine stems and scrolls, with naked cherub in the centre. Item measures 32.3 cm long. Slight movement where the stem joins the slice, and a small blemish in the plating of the slice - otherwise in very good condition.
