Antique Humidor, Coromandel Wood.
Beautiful striped coromandel wood cigar humidor, dating from early 1900s, Edwardian period. Corners are embellished with ornate brass cappings, and the word “Cigars” is scripted in brass across the centre. There is also a blank brass shield (for initials). I have not polished the brass, as some collectors like it have the patina of age. Interior of box has a square compartment with a side pocket with a striker for matches (presumably wax matches), a compartment for papers or spills, and a small shallow compartment, possibly for the matches. Inside a a couple of old items (not antique) including a Dutch cigar tube and contents. Box measures 20 cm wide by 16.5 cm deep and 112.5 cm high. The main interior compartment measures 12 cm by 12.5 cm and 10 cm deep. One shallow indentation scratch (not through the wood though, there is no visible scratch, just the light indentation of one). All round extremely good condition
