Antique Chinoiserie Box, Chinese.

Beautiful antique box, with large internal space for jewellery or letters or even sewing - no partitions, so anything can fit. Lower drawer with key, and little stand to rest your letter while you read it. Decorated in the Chinoiserie style, gold on black. Lion-paw feet. Handles to the sides. Very good condition for the age. One foot has wear, there are some chips to the black lacquer around the inside of the base under the lid.   Item measures 29 cm by 21.5 cm by 14 cm high. The drawer has a key, but not the top compartment.
