This pretty little item would once have been part of an earring. It dates from circa 1850 plus. It is made in tortoiseshell with piqué inlay of gold and silver (or possibly pewter). It would make a charming pendant on a gold chain. It is an easy job for a jeweller to fit an O ring (a suspension ring through which your chain would pass).  Item measures 3.4 cm by 2.6 cm. Excellent condition.
