Gorgeous little square photo frame, with decoration of Art Nouveau iris flowers. Background is tiny wave-like motifs - as iris do grow in water, maybe this completes the design. Silver hallmarks for Birmingham (England) 1903. Maker’s mark: A & J.Z. (for Arthur & John Zimmerman). There is a later small photo inserted, but obviously you can replace it with you own photo. Item measures 4.4 cm square. Red Moroccan leather back, with some wear to the edges etc. the hinge on the photo compartment is incomplete, but the bulges of the hinge bits and the swivel tab hold the backing in place very firmly. It has no easel or hanging tab though maybe a jeweller would be able to attach a silver O ring at the top rear to hang it by, as it is very light. The face of the item is in excellent condition. Overall, very cute and quaint.
