Silver plate and mother of pearl set of 6 each fish knives and forks, in a truly beautiful box. This is the nicest box I’ve ever had for a set such as this. Decorated edges to the knives, and to the tines base of the forks. The maker of the cutlery is Wingfield (Wingfield Rowbotham, Sheffield, England). The box is burgundy silk-lined inside, and oak and black pig-skin embossed card to the outer. It has a brass plaque for your initials, and a brass working lock with a key - believe me, having the original key is RARE. The box bears the registration mark for the period 1905-1910, so this is an Edwardian set. Knives measure 18 cm long, the forks 15.7.cm long. All in very good condition with light, normal wear. The box is in excellent condition.
