Pair of Old Sheffield Plate Decanter Coasters.

OSP coasters, suitable decanters or bottles, rounded sides with pierced work pattern of acanthus scrolls and flowers heads. Turned wooden base, felted on the bottom. Copper bleeds showing through on the plate, one coaster more than the other. One base is loose - enough to be removed, but it does its job. The base looseness could possibly be solved by glueing a narrow length of ribbon around the inner sides of the wood disc, thus getting it to to sit tightly. Circa 1830s-40s. No maker’s marks. Lots of age, pretty design. Measurements: 12 cm diameter and 4 cm high.
