Small porcelain Royal Bayreuth jug, with scene of horsemen - Arab or Bedouin horsemen in a desert setting with palm tree. The handle of the little jug is a serpent with his mouth open to grasp the rim. His body forms a knot at the handle top, and his tail swishes down into the sand of the desert. Gilded flashes. Jug measures 83.5 mm high and about 75 mm wide handle to spout. Blue mark. Early 20th century. Excellent condition, small wear to gilding.
