Pair French Porcelain Cornucopia Vases, Jacob Petit.
Pair of quite large, ornate Paris Porcelain vases, floral decoration and gilding. They bear the blue initialled mark of Jacob Petit, Fontainbleu (Seine-et-Marne), circa 1834-1862. Paris Porcelain. They both have faults as follows: One is perfect except for a blind tight hairline from the rim (see photo), and a small chip (touched up with gold) at the top of this. The other has a broken top to the vase area including a shallow slice off on the inside, and a tight hairline. The broken bit has been glued back by the previous owner, rather badly, and would respond well to professional restoration. It also has a curl off the bottom end of the cornucopia area, but I have the piece (will be sent to purchaser), so again would restore well. They each measure 17.5 cm high, 13.5 cm long at the base, and 10.6 cm wide. The hand painted decoration varies on each vase. Well worth having restored.
