Colourful plate, octagonal shape with hand-painted colour highlights. Lotus flower with floral and trellis border. There is a cup indentation off-set on the plate - maybe once an hors d’oeuvres plate or a tennis plate, but too big really for the latter. Measures 21cm diameter. Although the style is rather Art Deco, with its Clarice Cliff type colouring, it would date around the later 1800s, as it is marked as “England” rather than “Made in England” (which would denote a 20th century date).  Earthenware, with a few small losses to the hand painted colours on the lotus (see images) and the usual bit of wear to the green edges. There is a minute chip to one corner edge on the rear of the plate (see closeup image). However, it is a delightful plate, and would look good as a display item.
