Very nice tea bowl, white fine writhin-twist body with gold decoration of sprigs. Gold foot-rim band, and internal wavy pattern at top. Remains can be seen of the central gilded sprig at the bottom of the bowl (these are nearly always worn). Some wear to gilding on external patterns. Bowl measures 5.5 cm high by 8.25cm diameter. (2.1/2 inches by 3.1/4 inches). Condition of body is very good. No chips. This fine tea bowl (sometimes called a “sipper”) would date from mid 1700s plus.
