Eclectic design and colour to this duo - backstamp is for The Foley China, which was Wileman & Co , of the Foley Chinaworks in Longton, Staffordshire. In circa 1911, their mark became Shelley, with the Late Foley mark. In 1925 the mark became plain Shelley. This early piece of fine bone china has a registration mark, which dates it to between 1895 and 1900. This is stamped on the cup, and impressed on the saucer is a slightly earlier registration mark of 1887-1890. The cup is 5.5 cm high and 9 cm diameter (not including the handle), the saucer isn14 cm diameter. They are in very good condition - no chips or repairs. There is some slight wear to the yellow on the facet tops on the saucer. A rare, beautiful duo.
