Sterling Silver Dip Pen.

Very attractive long dip pen, made in sterling silver (except the nib). Pretty design to handle - flowing from a stylised  plant at the base of the handle to reeded lines running up the handle. The nib-holder is stamped with import marks for London, date letter is for 1994. Original hallmarks above these are possibly Portuguese, but I can’t find the crowned shield mark there.. Before the import marks comes an oblong surround with the initials M.G & S.A. inside.  Pen measures14 cm long without the nib. Slim handle measures .084 cm at the base, tapering to .045 cm at the tip (8.4 mm to 4.5 mm). Excellent condition.  TSW: 0.25g  (Items made of precious metals imported into the UK are stamped with an import mark at the date of the import, otherwise they are deemed not to be silver (or gold). The actual date of the item can be much, much older).
