Vintage Gold and Clear Spinel Ring.

Looking just like a diamond, this 9ct gold ring sports a faceted spinel in a basket-style setting with a tiny spinel at each side, and leaf curled decoration to the shoulders. Mounted onto a flat band, tapering from 4 mm wide at the shoulders to 2.5 mm at the rear of the finger. The face of the ring measures 10 mm wide by 6.5 mm. The large spinel measures approx. 5.6 mm diameter. Under magnification, you can see some abrasions to the edges of the table of the stone - commensurate with age and having been worn. Pre-owned ring, dating from mid 20th century. Ring fitting is NZ/UK size P (USA size 7.1/2) with an internal diameter of approx. 17.75 mm. Overall, in good condition.  TW: 2.5g.
