Silver Victorian Locket on Chain, Dated 1884.

Shield-shaped hinged locket, sterling silver with British hallmarks for Birmingham 1884. Locket has two photo spaces (no glass). It measures 2 cm high not including the bale, and 1.7 cm wide at the top. It is 0.05 cm thick. The front is engraved with  cross-hatching to the corners, and a leaf at the centre of the face. There is no catch, but it stays together quite well (a tiny speck of blue-tack could be used if desired). Very shallow thumb dent to rear - where it has been pressed closed, over the years). The chain is a modern sterling silver figaro chain, lovely design of link, measuring 42.5 cm long. 0.04 cm wide.  TSW: 14.3 grams.
