Large vintage brooch of a scorpion with the main part of the body mounted with garnet cabochon stones. The two tiny eyes are dark blue cabochon stones. The metal would be silver, and is not stamped, but probably is a low grade, as this was likely to have been a vintage souvenir brooch from Egypt. Brooch measures 3.4 cm by 7.1 cm. It is in very good condition, although the end stone on the tail has popped out twice. It has been reset, and now appears firm - but bears watching. This is a really lovely brooch, and a great item for an insect jewellery collection. Probably dates around 1970s.
