Antique small brooch with glass faceted stones on the outer edges (“paste diamonds” as they were called at the time). Central bar carries the word Mizpah in copper on a brass background (to look exactly like 9ct rose gold).. Mizpah was the Hebrew blessing for a couple parted. It means “Watch Tower” with the blessing “May God watch over you”. (When it is shown in full it is “May the Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from the other”). Brooch measures 3.75 cm wide. Good condition, but a bit dulled with age.
