Antique Silver, Gold and Diamond Earrings.

Unusual small Victorian earrings or ear bobs,  with silver backing, and a sort of free-standing winged design in dull craquelure 9ct gold. This could also be a flower with a diamond centre. One diamond above this, and a curved row of diamonds around the bottom of the earring. The diamonds are old mine-cut stones, very crudely cut by modern standards, but representative of the style back in the 1800s. I think these earrings started life as part of a necklace, and have been converted. This happened commonly in the 19th century, as women remodeled their jewellery to fit changing fashions. Face of earring measures 2 cm by 1.8 cm wide. Drop from the ear is 2.75 cm. Mounted on ear wires - a later addition.
