Antique Pinchbeck and Purple Stone Brooch.

Antique brooch - made in pinchbeck and mounted with a amethyst-like stone - testa as probably glass. This item would date from late Victorian period - the rear clasp has been replaced/repaired at a later date. Item measures 3.8 cm wide by 2.9 cm. Very good condition.  (Pinchbeck is an alloy - brass really, with a gilded finish. It was very popular in the Georgian periods, and also Victorian. Very collected today).
