Cranberry Glass Cream & Sugar, Children Picts.
Unusual Victorian period cranberry glass creamer and loaf sugar bowl. Decorated with enamelled pictures of children. The large bowl (used for sugar cubes, or loaf sugar as it then was) has a gilded base rim and a picture of a little girl with curly hair and big eyes. The round enamelled area has a hand-painted gilded outline of scrolls. Apart from the tiny odd bubble and imperfection in the glass, it is in excellent condition. The small cream jug has a clear applied handle, and a similar style enamel decoration, a different pose though. There is a roughly ground pontil mark under the base, this is a blown glass item. There are a couple of small bubbles in the glass. There is one fault, there is an external chip to the edge and top of the spout (see photos).
