Flamboyant tray, possibly Japanese but in the Italian style. Marked "Foreign" on the back. Made in what appears to be papier maché, it measures 55 cm wide and 27 cm high. Decoration of cherry trees, butterflies and Bonsai tree. Ornate pattern around edges. Marked "Alcohol Proof, Heat Proof" on the rear. Condition: Some wear to the paint on the rim edges, nothing bad though, just age. There is a discolouration of the background on one end - looks like the sealant has pooled a bit there.  A bit of fun, would date mid 20th century.
