Early 1900s Sorrento Ware Mirror.

Inlaid olive wood hinged mirror, with oval mirror to one side, and tray-like feature to the other. The exterior of the item shows an inlaid scene of a woman with two children riding a mule with her husband beside carrying a sack? on a stick and leading the mule. Ornate carving to the surround and base, with fine pen-like details to the scrolls. Rear has a carved pediment, and carved base, with plain bevelled wood centre. The mirror has a fine red and pale wood detailing around it. Mirror itself has one shallow surface chip, and some age wear to the very edges (which may be dirt). Not sure how all this fits together - maybe you steady the base against your chest to hold toiletries, and hold the mirror upright. Very good condition to the wood - with just a broken and repaired piece on the bottom left hand corner.
