1920s small framed picture of Eastern sailing boat with background of South American Morpho butterfly wings to the bottom of the picture. Top (sky area) is a pearlised effect. Sunset scene with sun surrounded by black cloud and views of a mosque and buildings with bridge. Item measures 13 cm by 6.75 cm. Lovely old ebonised frame, with easel stand rear and original label  “Genuine Butterfly Wing”  with the patent number and :made in England”. Butterfly wing jewellery and small pictures were very popular in England in the 1920s. Condition: The scene is painted on the rear of the glass, and surrounding black border shows some losses of paint. There is a smudge above the sun and to the detail of the top of the mast. But still, a charming little item. We have another of this style elsewhere in this category.
