Victorian Cameo Brooch.

Small genuine antique shell cameo, Victorian period, late 1800s in a 9ct gold mount. Very dainty mount, little curls and scrolls of gold. Item measures 34 mm by 27.75 mm. Very good condition. The rear of the shell shows a discolouration - this appears to be a liquid spill, possibly a cleaning fluid. It may mostly wash off. It does not show on the front of the brooch. This is a charming little brooch in an era where so many cameos were very large and clumsy, and this makes it more sweet and special.
