Victorian period silver purse - for evening dancing. It has a finger ring on the chain so that you can dance while the purse is suspended from your finger. This one has the name “Veronica” engraved to the front, and was made in Birmingham (UK) in 1897. It is shaped like a true purse, with bulging-style bottom and clip-over clasp. Inside is leather with 3 coin compartments. The middle compartment has a torn side which could easily be glued up. Item measures 7.3 cm wide at its widest point, and 7.3 high not including the clasp or chain. It is in excellent condition for the age, being now one hundred and twenty eight years old. There are very, very minimal scuffs and tiny shallow indentations. Really, the most perfect one I have ever had for sale.
