Hallmark at rear for Birmingham 1888. Engraved to the rear: "To Sadie from Grannie."  Two sided interior with restraining rings for photos.  Celluloid based photography was in its infancy when this locket was made, but in 1888 Eastman marketed a Kodak camera with a roll film.  Locket is a good size, measuring 6 cm including the bale or 4.6 cm without it, and 30 cm wide. Condition is used - there is shallow finger indentation to the rear, where over the years, the locket has been pressed closed many times. It's a pretty lcoket, with a long  history behind it.
