Painted Portrait Pendant, Large English Jet Mount.

Large Victorian English jet pendant, quite thick and substantial (English jet is fossilised wood or coal - from Whitby). It is mounted with a porcelain plaque hand painted with a picture of a young Tyrolean boy in a hat. This painting would have done in Austria and sent to Whitby for mounting into the jet. The edge of the jet has a rope twist carved border. Total measurement of the pendant is 7.1 cm by 4.7 cm  and 1.7 cm thick. It has a few minor very tiny nicks to the jet mount on the front, and a small scar and a chip to the rear. Overall very good condition and presents well.
