Long Hatpin with Ornate Top.

Edwardian period hat pin - early 1900s. The top is circle of aqua blue faceted glass held in a gilded metal filigree clasp mounted with a round piece of green glass. The total hatpin measures 24 5 cm long. The top measures 4 cm high by 3.5 cm wide. Excellent condition. Edwardian hat pins tended to be very long, because of the fashion for  intricate upswept hair-does with a large ornate hat perched on top - hence the pin had to go through all the above.
