Large Victorian Jet Carved Locket, Hair Panel.

Carved in Whitby jet, this striking locket would have been a memorial or mourning locket. The face of the locket has border intricately carved as a chain. The centre panel is domed and plain. with a diagonal small chain frame. The rear of the locket holds a hair panel.both blonde and brown hair - there is no glass to the panel. Item measures 6.25 cm by 4.3 cm wide. Apart from the missing glass, it is in excellent condition. A very dramatic pendant..
