Georgian period - hallmarked for Sheffield, 1825 in the reign of George IV. The fork carries the silver hallmark, but the knife blade is close-plate (an early form of silver plate, used before the invention of electroplating). The handles are hardstone - rather translucent - you can see the rather convoluted structure of the handles through the stone. The knife is 21 cm long, and the three-tined fork is 15.5 cm long. They are in their original velvet and Morocco case. The plating on the knife blade is lifting on the cutting edge. Otherwise, condition is relatively good.
