French 19th Century Metal Blanc Cake Lifter.

Unusual item, from the late 1800s. French cake lifter - this is a substantial, large item made to serve slices of pudding or cake. It is stamped “Metal Blanc” which is a French term for silver-plated nickel silver i.e. EPNS. Very ornate handle, and flowers and a flower basket worked on the slice itself . Would make a good wedding cake lifter. Measures 33.5 cm long, and 6.25 cm wide at the widest point on the slice. Excellent condition.
