Rare, very stylish opening keepsake or photo locket - made in  pinchbeck, which is an alloy of copper and  zinc, which looks a lot like gold. It often had a gilded finish. This one has a beautiful design of stylised flowers to the front, an Art Nouveau interpretation in black and white enamel work. It would date from late 19th to very early 20th century. Inside is a plain gilded finish. Locket measures 5.1 cm by 3.9  cm and 1.5 cm thick.
There are a few very minor losses of black enamel, and some identity scratches inside, otherwise very good condition.
