Mother of pearl handles with carved organic pattern and silver plated blades. This pretty set can be used also for entreé's etc. Condition is good - normal scuffs etc. There are actually 12 place settings in the case, but the other 2 piece set has substantial damage to the blades of the knives - the plating is wearing off on two of the knives (see images). You can get the blades re-plated if necessary. All the forks are usable. The maker is Atkin Brothers, of Sheffield (UK) who manufactured from 1853 to 1958. The set is housed in a very attractive two-tier mahogany box. The brass plaque on the front has tarnished, otherwise in very good condition for the age. It measures 28.5 cm wide by 24.5 cm, and 2 cm deep. Inside is dark blue felt. Knives are 19.5 cm long, and the forks are 16.75 cm long. There is a lock, but no key. Box is open. This set would date around late 19th to early 20th century.
