For serving butter, this pretty knife has a mother of pearl handle and sterling silver blade. Blade is slightly scooped to curl the butter when scraped. It has an engraved design of leaves and thistles to the blade. The handle has engraved design on the shaped end, and stripes on the stem. Very, very faintly on the handle there is the word "Foidham" - hard to read, but that's the closest I can get. The blade is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1825, with the head of George IV. Maker is probably Thomas Freeman. Knife measures 19 cm long. Very good condition.
