Antique Rose Gold Snap Bangle.

Antique hallmarked 9ct rose gold, wax-filled oval bracelet, with engraved pattern to the front half. There is a small blank space for engraving one's initials.  Plain back half. Hallmarked for 9ct gold (375), made in Birmingham (UK),  date mark for 1916.  Original safety chain fitted. 5.68 cm x 6.52 cm wide.  It is 0.70 cm deep. Excellent pre-owned condition, no dents, which is fairly rare in bracelets of this sort. Wax-filled means that the manufacturer has used a wax model over which to cast the gold. It is a technique which was once widely used. The total weight of the bracelet is 11.7 grams, but the interior wax is part of that. This is a very attractive bangle, over 100 years old and in excellent condition.
