Beautiful large badge, for a nurse at The Prince of Wales’s General Hospital. Made with a brass backplate, and with the front medallion gilded with enamel work . The item is in two pieces: the backplate which has lug holes, and the front medallion which has the rings to fit through the lug holes. A split pin keeps the two plates together over the fabric or belt. The name of the owner is engraved on the rear of the front plate - it reads “J.P. Watt. 20th Feby 1910.” Very good condition - there is a blob on the base of one of the rings - this could either be original, or a repair of long ago. This is a most unusual and attractive item.
