Antique Mother of Pearl Shell Souvenir Box.

Quaint Souvenir of Jerusalem oval shell lidded box, made from Mother of pearl shell with red and black lacquer, and bass fittings. The lid is engraved "Souvenir de Jerusalem", and it was probably for use as a snuff box or a ring box. This would date from late 19th century to early 20th century. Item measures 7.3 cm across, 4.3 cm wide and 3.6 cm high. c9ondition is good -  a little battering to the brass lid surround. It will still click tightly closed if you push it firmly backwards with your thumb when closing. Lovely, unusual item.
